Courtallam Monsoon Masti Saral Trekking cum Training Expedition 2024 (By Tamil Nadu State Branch)
BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM : Courtallam is situated at the Western Ghats in Tenkasi District. The famous waterfalls on rocks and tiny droplets are sprinkled in the air. The water falls of Courtallam have medicinal value as they run through forest and herbs before their decent. The Courtallam is called as ‘Spa’ of South India.
DAY WISE
SCHEDULE :
Day 1 : Reporting
at Courtallam, Tenkasi and visit to Courtallam Falls (Palaiya Courtallam) and
return back to campsite.

Day 2 : Visit to
Honey Falls (Theanaruvi)or Senbaha Devi Falls (Senbakadavi) and return back to
campsite.
Day 3: Visit to
Main Falls, or Small Falls (Citharuvi), sightseeing and return back to
campsite.
Day 4 : Visit to
Tiger Falls (Puliyaruvi) and return back to campsite.
Day 5 : Visit to
Five Falls (Iyentharuvi) and checkout.
WHO CAN
PARTICIPATE? : Any YHAI member can join this programme. Any person who
is desirous to join this program can book this program and can take the
membership of YHAI at the time of reporting.
HOW TO REACH
THE BASE CAMP :
Air : Nearest
airport is Tuticorin Airport (86 km) and Thiruvananthapuram (112 km). Madurai
Airport is also well connected to the Courtallam (160 km). Regular buses are
connected from Madurai to Courtallam.

Rail : Nearest
railhead is Tenkasi, 6km from Courtallam. From here one can take a private
auto, bus or share van to Courtallam. Tirunelveli junction has many trains
coming in from Chennai, and Shengottai is another railhead on the Kollam-
Madurai route.
Road : Many
national highways links Courtallam by road to surrounding towns. Government run
Transport buses and private buses are available from Tenkasi (6km), Tirunelveli
(58km), Tuticorin (86 km), Sivakasi (105 km), Madurai (160 km) to reach
Courtallam.

ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES : AC Room with twin sharing basis.
FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES : Nutritious & sumptuous meals (Non Vegetarian food will be given in dinner).
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG :Cotton Shirts, Cotton Pants, bed sheet, shoes, sun-cap, raincoat, two pairs of socks, water bottle, lunch box, mug, plate, tumbler, toilet set, cream and a first-aid kit.
SAFETY &
SECURITY :Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the
planning of your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been
visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to
ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held
responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities
ADDITIONAL
NOTES :
- 1. Smoking, use of
alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the
course of the program.
- 2. Stay other than YHAI
accommodation is not allowed for the entire duration of the programme.
- 3. This is an
environment friendly program. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial
in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by
trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the
base camp.
- 4. For the prevention
of COVID 19, participants should follow the social distancing rules.
Cancellation
Cancellation Policy:
1). In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 50% refund of the participation fees. The request for cancellation must be received by us by email or any written mode or online before 10 days from the reporting date of your program. After that no request of cancellation will be considered. No refund will be applicable if the request of cancellation received less than 10 days prior to your reporting date
2). YHAI is not liable to pay any personal travelling expenses to the participants in case of any cancellation of the program.
In case YHAI cancels the program last minute due to government permission issues, Participants will get a 100% refund. But in case of Participants cannot claim any travel amount they incurred.
For Offline Cancellations: You cancellation request should be sent to the State Office as per the criteria.

- Seat once booked may not be re-scheduled or transferred
- If any participant is unable to join program then he may transfer his booking to any other person he is willing to. But the request for transfer the seat must received to us 10 days prior to the reporting date.
- Any unforeseen event/ strike or natural calamity/ unfit medical condition will not be considered as a cause of cancellation.
- Refund may be given after completion of the programs 30 to 45 working days.
