Stretching into the Arabian Sea, Gujarat is renowned for its beaches, temple towns, palaces and historic capitals. Wildlife sanctuaries, hill resorts and natural grandeur add to its beauty. The state’s major attractions include the only habitat of the Asiatic lions in India (Gir Forests), the Wild Ass Sanctuary, which are not seen anywhere else in the world. The varied landscape of Gujarat is a complete package in itself. Here, the White Desert of Kutch coexists with a long and beautiful coastline is home to unique marine species and its varied geographical locations are said to make it a melting pot of culture, people, places and history. The archaeological monuments from different eras go as far back as Harappan time in Dholavira and Lothal.  Gujarat has ancient caves, stupas, monasteries, temples and monuments that exhibit the Indo-Saracenic architectural style. Gujarat is also a delightful destination for the eco traveller. It has wetlands habitats of Nal Sarovar, fascinating Marine Ecosystem like Pirotan Island, moist deciduous forest of Dangs. Once again, we welcome all Youth Hosteller friends from all over India to join the wonderful Exploring the Mount Girnar, Forest of Gir for Asiatic Lion and historical ancient city of Junagadh. The programme is conducted by Gujarat State Branch with Junagadh unit and kind support of Forest Department of Gujarat. We are ready to deliver lifetime memorable moments with a unique programme.The purpose of this programme is to develop senses and respect towards nature in participants. To introduceand understand the ecology of the Girnar area, forest trek routes of Mount Girnar. The programme included abreathtaking coastal beach trek. We also provide a memorable visit of famous historical spots nearby Junagadh.

DAY TO DAY SCHEDULE: 
Day:1 Reporting and registration at Junagadh Base Camp. Forest Trek for acclimatization.
Day:2 Girnar Hiking / Forest trek of approx. 15 km.
Day:3 Transfer by bus from Junagadh to Adri for Coastal Trekking on a beach which is full of unique diversity (approx. 8 km)
Day:4 Check out from the Base Camp and thereafter, city tour, sight seen, visit of historical places andzoo of Junagadh City.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Any YHAI member above the age of 15 yrs. can participate on a first come first serve basis. Non-member can get membership at the Base camp by paying required membership fees with membership Form, passport size photo and photocopy of photo identity cum residential proof.
HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP: Junagadh is very well connected by Train and Bus with Ahmedabad and Rajkot. Nearest Airports are Rajkot and Ahmedabad. Regular State Transport service and Private travels are available to reach Junagadh. Regular local auto rickshaws and taxis are available from bus station and railway station.

Participants need to produce medical a certificate at the time of reporting (with 30 days of validity) duly signed by a registered Medical Practitioner (MBBS / MD only). Also Need to produce Indemnity bond (declaration cum undertaking) in case of the participant is above 60 years. Also need to confirm YHAI membership details at the time of reporting. (YHAI membership card or receipt of membership fee payment). Keep a passport size photo for the programme identity card. ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES: Sharing base rooms will be provided. FOOD: Simple nutritious and delicious vegetarian food will be provided. 
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG: Light clothes (Camouflage clothes desirable), mug, water bottle, trekking shoes, torch, personal medicines, lunch box, raincoat or rain sheet, personal basic needs. Camouflage clothes are desirable.
