Seshachalam Thumburu Trekking and Training Expedition-2025 (By Andhra Pradesh State)

BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: TIRUMALA TIRUPATHI is famous as the abode of SRI BALAJI, the Lord of Seven Hills where Tens of Thousands of pilgrims throng every day seeking His Blessings. But very few are aware of astounding variety of the Fauna and Flora that abounds in the dense forests surrounding this Holy Shrine. Secret Canyons, perennial springs, cascading waterfalls, century?s old tall trees, caves, and prehistoric rock paintings are located off the beaten track and are reachable only by Trekking under the canopy of dense jungle on footpaths known only to the local tribal and the experience Trekkers of Youth Hostels Association of India.

DAY1:Report at Renigunta Railway Station. Strictly Before 9 am.

Orientation & Instructions. Trek to Chakirevu Bana ? 7 kms . Night Halt.

DAY 2: Trek to Tumburu Valley & Theertham: 08  Km-Night Halt

It is religious Theertham where many "Rishis" did penance in the ancient times. The trek through the canyon with towering hills of more than 200 feet height with a clearance of 20 to 30 feet only between the vertical rock walls climbing over boulders wading through pools of water ultimately reaching the water fall where the two hills join together is an unforgettable experience. Nature has provided swimming pools of different depths all along route inviting both swimmers and non swimmers to enjoy frolicking in the water after the bath under the waterfall at the end of the Thumburu Kona where a small idol of Tumburu, the celestial horse-headed musician is installed.

On the way Trekkers will have the opportunity to witness some of the rare cave paintings and caves where ancient men dwelt in the prehistoric age.

DAY 3: Trek to Papavinasanam Theertham ? 08 kms –Trek Ends, 

Starting from Thumburu Valley one has to trek 5 kms. Including 1 km. ascent and 2 kms. Descent to down a narrow water course to reach the Papavinasanam Theertham and Trek Ends.

 WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Any member of the Association who is physically fit can join the program.
