* About Program:
Youth Hostels Association of India has been organizing various adventure programs for the last 50 years. People from poles apart cultures and regions participate in our programs and enjoy our economical and budgeted adventure programmes. A large number of volunteers work with dedication and support us in running these programmes successfully. As a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of YHAI National Trekking, in 1995 we introduced the Family camping Program for interested families.

* Flora and Fauna
Kullu is home to an enormous range of species, which span the subtropical to the alpine. The common trees in the Kullu hills belong to the conifer species (deodar, pine, spruce, fir). Several species of medicinal plants like Hath Panja (Dactylorhiza hatageria) and Brahma Kamal (Saussurea obvallata) grow luxuriously in the valley. The valley is known for the presence of the majestic Snow-leopard, the Himalayan brown bear and the Himalayan Tahr. The Western Tragopan (the state bird of Himachal Pradesh) and the Monal pheasant are the prominent birds species found in the region.The Great Himalayan National Park is the repository of the great biodiversity of the region.

Note: The route and Schedule of the programme may change without prior notice based on the local condition. YHAI has all the rights to change any of the policies regarding this program.
* How to reach Base Camp: Regular bus services are available for Kullu from Delhi,Chandigarh & Punjab. Every bus from Kullu to Manali is passed from Dobhi The nearest Railway Stations are Ambala & Chandigarh & the nearest Airport is Bhuntar.
* Who can Participate:
1. Any YHAI member can participate on a first come first serve basis.
2. A family consists of a husband, wife, and two children up to the age of 12 years. Copy of Age proof must be attached with application forms or must be submitted at the time of reporting at the Base Camp. Photographs of the Family Head must be attached to the forms. The third Child will be charged extra.
3. A single person does not constitute a family and shall not be registered for the camp. Parents of very small children should arrange for their bottled feed.
4. Photo ID Proof of the head of the family should be attached to the application form, to be produced at the time of reporting at the base
5. For children above 12 years of age, Rs.1000/- per person will be charged, over & above.
6. Husband & Wife's membership is mandatory.
* How to Participate:
Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online by paying the requisite program fee along with an online booking amount i.e. Rs.8500/- per Family including Husband, Wife, and 2 Children up to the age of 12 years.
We accept Net Banking, Debit Card, and Credit Card payments on www.yhaindia.org for online payments.
After a successful transaction, Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry an "Admit Card", "Trekking Medical Certificate" & "Membership Card"(Print out of membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may also apply on the prescribed "Trekking Registration Form" duly supported by a "Medical Certificate", along with a DD of the requisite amount of Rs.8500/- per Family including Husband, Wife, and 2 Children upto the age of 12 years.) in favor of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi. Note: Seat once booked may not be re-scheduled or transferred. The medical certificate of the head of the family will be submitted and the head of the family certify that all the family members are medically fit. Husband and wife should be members.

All Offline Booking confirmation is subject to the availability of seats. National Office will send the Admit Card along with a confirmation letter to the participant at the address mentioned in the "Trekking Registration Form".
Members can also apply through our YHAI Units or State Branches in their respective areas.
N.B: Without admit card and Medical fitness Certificate do not claim your registration as confirmed.
Notice to Participant:
1. Deviation from the set schedule of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
2. Staying other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
3. This is an environment-friendly camp. Do not litter any wrappers in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag, or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and dump in the dustbin at base camp.
4. Washing of Clothes are strictly restricted in camps. Ignore washing clothes in the camps.
5. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Carrying any Non-biodegradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offense.
* What participants should bring along:
1. Comfortable Shoes (Preferably Waterproof, high ankle, Non-skid).
2. Sandal or Chappal (Washable and quick dry).
3. Socks- Cotton and woollen 4 pairs (One pair only for night-time).
4. Trousers (Lightweight, preferably quick dry).
5. Cotton T-shirts (Full and Half sleeves both).
6. Inner Garments (as per requirement).
7. Trek Suite (Complete set). (Optional).
8. Wind Cheater (Upper and Lower with hoods, preferably water-repelled).
9. Rain Coat Set. (Upper and lower with Hoods).
10. Sweater or Woollen Jersey. Cots wool set upper and lower.
11. Good quality Jacket with hood.
12. Woollen and waterproof gloves.
13. Bandana or Throat Cover.
14. Sun Cap and Woollen Cap.
15. Sun Glass (Polarized will be best).
16. Walking Stick. (Optional).
17. Torch (With spare cells).
18. Thermal flask, Water Bottle, and Water Purifier.
19. Lunch Box, leak-proof (For Packed Lunch).
20. Plate, Mug, Spoon. (For maintaining your own hygiene).
21. Needle and Thread with spare Buttons.

23. Towel, Soap, Toothpaste, and Toothbrush.
24. Boroline, Vaseline, Sun Protection Cream (SPF 30 or above).
25. Pen and Notebook.
26. Passport size photographs, ID proof original, and Xerox, Membership card.
27. Original Medical certificate, Indemnity bond if above 60 years.
28. Medicine (As per your personal requirement, which you regularly use at home and Crepe Bandage 4in*1, Micropore tape 1/2inch*1, Band-Aids, Cough lozenges/ Kanthil or other, Vicks Vaporub, Coldarin, Clotrimazole cream and powder, Paracetamol*10 Mupirocin cream, Diclofenacgel, Lopamide*10, Azithromycin, and Electral).
29. Camera with spare cells (Optional).
30. Personal things are regularly used at your home.
* Accommodation Facilities: Tenting accommodation.
* Special Casual leave: No special casual leave is applicable for Family camping program.
MANDATORY:
Original Trekking Medical Certificate will be compulsory at the time of reporting only (with 30 days
of validity ) duly signed by a registered Medical Practitioner ( Allopathic MBBS / MD only), along
with his registration number, and stamp, copy of admit card, membership card, two copy of
photographs, two copy ID card Xerox.
Without admit card and Original Medical fitness Certificate, and membership card do
not claim your registration as confirmed.

6. Smoking, use of alcohol, and narcotics of any description are strictly prohibited during
the course of the program.
SAFETY & SECURITY:
Extensive and painstaking preparations have been done for the planning of routes for your safety.
Our Field Staff have been visiting the area to check all in detail, every care has been taken to ensure
safety. Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness, and
such other unforeseen casualties. If Participants desire to join other activities they may do so at their
own cost and responsibility and only after finishing the program and checking out.
Cancellation Method:
1) Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
2) Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.
Cancellation Policy:
The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of "Cancellation Method", is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:
(a) Credit Shell:-
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2025.
2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2025.
3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4) Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.
5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.
6) The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organised by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.
OR
(b) Refund:-
Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.
Note: If any program will be cancelled due to Natural Calamity / Government Restriction / Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
