BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM: YHAI is again comes up to celebrate the Youth Day with a new programme. This programme is to offer the youth a new cycling route from Puducherry to Chennai. Clear roads sprinkled with sparkling beaches make this trail one of the best in India. The route, going through Mamallapuram, is renowned for its glistening seaside views
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: The minimum age for a member to join the program is 18 years to 75 Years, YHAI membership is mandatory to participate. This condition will be adhered to strictly. Under age and above age will not be considered in any case. Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online duly supported by a "Trekking Medical Certificate".
HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP:
Puducherry Youth Hostel, Mutiapet, Solai Nagar, Puducherry: 605003
Nearest Bus Stand: There are several buses that ply frequently from Chennai, Thanjaur, Trichy, Coimbatore, Bangalore and Madurai to Pondicherry. Both private and state-owned buses are available. The bus fare will depend upon the distance covered.
Nearest Railway Station: There is direct rail connected to Puducherry and one more nearest rail station from Villupuram, which is about 35 kilometres away from the town. The railhead is well-connected to cities like New Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, and Trivandrum. Two of the most popular trains are New Delhi Pondicherry Express and Nagarcoli Express. Once you reach at the station, you can hire a taxi that will drive you to the city.
Nearest Airport: The airport at Pondicherry can accommodate landing of a small aircraft only and has flights coming in from Bangalore and Hyderabad. However, you can get a connecting flight if you are coming from Delhi, Kochi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
DAY WISE SCHEDULE:
# Day 1: Reporting at base camp Government Youth Hostel Puducherry and Training/Acclimatization
# Day 2: Cycling from Puducherry Youth Hostel to Auroville French New Town and back to Youth Hostel (25 km)
# Day 3: Cycling from Puducherry Youth Hostel to Alamparai Fort (49 KM)
# Day 4: Cycling from Alamparai Fort to Mamallapuram (50 KM)
# Day 5: Cycling from Mamallapuram to Youth Hostel Chennai (58 km)
#Day 6: Certificate Distribution/Recreation activity Disperse after Breakfast
The programme will disperse at Chennai only. (Extra Luggage will be handover to Participants at Chennai).

HOW TO JOIN:

2. Participants can also deposit the participation fee in any branch of ICICI Bank giving the following details:

Simple vegetarian and nutritious food will be served
WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG:
Raincoat, torch, water bottle, lunch box, mug, plate, tumbler, cold cream and a first-aid kit.
* Admit card, 2 set Xerox copies of ID Proof, Medical Certificate, 2 Passport size Photos, Membership card, payment receipt if paid by offline.

Participants willing to take their own bicycles can bring.
SAFETY & SECURITY:
While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any theft, accident, illness and other such unforeseen eventualities.
CANCELLATION RULES: (Online/Offline)
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2023. The request for cancellation or transfer or postponement must be received by us by email or any written mode before 7 days from the reporting date of your program. After that no request of transfer or refund or postponement will be considered. No refund will be applicable for any cancellation of a seat and credit shell will be provided only.
2. In case the participant cancels the program from his own end, he/she is eligible for 50% monetary refund provided the participant cancels the program 21 days prior to the starting date of the program.
3. YHAI is not liable to pay any personal travelling expenses to the participants in case of any cancellation of the program.
