Dear Trekker,


Hope you are safe with your family in your home and following all safety guidelines in the difficult times of the COVID19 pandemic.


In view of the above unforeseen and unprecedented situation and in order to lend full support to the government efforts to prevent the spread of the COVID-19, YHAI Delhi State Branch has decided to the postponement of Gangotri - Dayara Bugyal Trekking Cum Training Expedition beginning from 1st June to 10th June 2020 stands postponed and declared the new date for Gangotri - Dayara Bugyal Trekking Cum Training Expedition on 03rd October 2020


YHAI trekking-cum-training programmes are made trekker friendly by our team that includes experienced and committed staff. In this difficult time, YHAI stands committed to support the ones who have served our trekking-cum-training programs so well. Their livelihood is our programmes. They have families to support. We seek your support to help us helping them.


A lot of resources and efforts have gone into setting up logistics for the programmes. We have already invested in logistics, safety equipment, recruitment and training for the camp leaders and other staff.


We appeal you to stand by us in a way that will be symbiotically beneficial to all of us.


We also offer you a choice of options against your booking amount:


(1)   We request you to participate in Gangotri- Dayara Bugyal Trekking Cum Training Programme in new tentative date i.e. 03rd October 2020.


(2) You can adjust the full programme fees for any programme organized by Delhi State Branch of YHAI, including the ones organized by National Programme upto June 2021.


(3)  If the programme is costlier, the trekkers will have to pay the difference.


(4) As a special case, you may transfer the same to any of your family members and friends.


(5) As per guidelines of YHAI, National Office, we offer a cash refund after deducting 20 % for administrative and logistical expenses already incurred. Last date of Cancellation is 31st March 2021.

Day 2 Uttarkashi to Raithal by Jeep and trek to Gui


Day 3 Trek from Gui to Chilapada


Day 4 Trek from Chilapada to Dayara Top and back


Day 5 Trek from Chilapada to Barsu via Barnala  and Barsu to Gangotri by Jeep


Day 6 Gangotri to Uttarkashi

This expedition is open to YHAI members who are 18 years above and physically fit. This condition will be adhered to strictly.


Uttarkashi is well connected through road network. Since air and rail connectivity in Uttarkhand is limited, road network is the best and easily available transport option.

By Air: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun is the nearest Airport to Uttarkashi situated at a distance of 160 Kms. Uttarkashi is well connected by motorable roads with Jolly Grant Airport. Taxis are available from Jolly Grant Airport to Uttarkashi 

By Train: The nearest railway station to Uttarkashi is Rishikesh/Dehradun. Rishikesh/Dehradun is well connected by Railway networks with major destinations of India. Trains to Rishikesh/Dehradun are frequent. Uttarkashi is well connected by motorable roads with Rishikesh/Dehradun. Taxis, sharing Jeeps and buses are available from Rishikesh, Dehradun and many destinations to Uttarkashi


By Road: Uttarkashi is well connected by motorable roads with major destinations of Uttarakhand State. Uttarkashi is situated on NH-108 which connects Gangotri. Buses to Rishikesh/Dehradun are available from ISBT Kashmere Gate, Delhi and buses/Sharing Jeeps/Taxis to Uttarkashi are easily available from Rishikesh and Dehradun.

Offline Booking Process:

Members desirous of joining this programme may apply on the prescribed registration form duly supported by YHAI prescribed Medical Certificate along with or Deposit Slip/NEFT Challan Copy or a DD/Cheque of requisite amount Rs. 7850/- in favour of “Youth Hostels Association of India, Delhi State Branch” payable at New Delhi

N.B: Booking is based on first come first serve All Offline Booking confirmation is subject to availability of seats. Without admit card and Medical Certificate do not claim your registration as confirmed.

Note: Seat once booked may not be re-scheduled or transferred.



Accommodation in Hotel/Tent on sharing basis will be provided.


Simple, nutritious vegetarian meals will be provided.



Rucksack (40-60 Ltr.), Small Backpack/Day pack (10-20 Ltr), Trekking Shoes, Floaters/Flip Flops,  Socks, Raincoat, Poncho, Torch, Lunchbox, Glass/Tumbler, Plates, Spoon, Water bottle, Woolen Garments, Sun Cap, Sunglasses, Sunscreen Cream, Moisturizer, Lip Balm, Goggles, personal Medical Kit, Needle, Thread, Button, Soap, Towel, Camera, Powerbank Cotton Shirts, Cotton Pants, Personal Utilities


Trained/expert camp leaders will be available for guidance. Medicines will be available in the camp. First aid/ basic medical assistance shall be provided. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, The Youth Hostels Association of India, Delhi State Branch will not be responsible for any accidents, illness and any such unforeseen eventualities. 

Special Casual leave:

The Trekking Expedition organized by Youth Hostels Association of India have the approval of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Dept. of Personnel And Training), Government of India, vide Office Order no. 28016/3/89-Estt (A), Dated 25 October, 1989. Participants working in the Central Govt. Organization can apply to the authorities concerned for availing special casual leave for the duration of the expedition. This leave can be sanctioned by their office up to 30 days in calendar year.


Participants, who successfully complete the trek and abide by the discipline of the program, will be awarded certificates.



1. Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the course of the program.

2. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.

3. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.

4. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the next camp.

5. Burning of woods during camp fire is strictly prohibited.

6. Medical Certificate is compulsory; you have to summit Medical Certificate at the time of reporting.

If found flouting the rules, your participation will be terminated with immediate effect.


In case you are unable to join this trek you will get 50% of the prog. Fee which is Rs.3925 /- (Except Online Charges) as refund, provided your online cancellation request is received before 15th May 2020 (positively). Any request received after the last date of cancellation will not be considered.

Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation. Refund will be given after completion of the programs.
