* About Program:
Dear students, our mission is to enable and promote travel, tourism, adventure spirit, national integration and Education through our different adventure programmes around the year. Every year we organize a Special Nature study cum trekking expedition programme for the student. So once again we are conducting the same programme at Dobhi in district Kullu (HP). This programme includes many adventurous activities which can boost your future with courage, leadership, National Integration, team spirit and a lot of fruitful achievements
Location: Kullu (HP)
Flora and Fauna: The common trees in the Kullu hills belong to the conifer species (deodar, pine, spruce, fir). Several species of medicinal plants like Hath Panja (Dactylorhiza categoria) and Brahma Kamal (Saussurea obvallata) grow luxuriously in the valley. The valley is known for the presence of, the Himalayan brown bear and the Himalayan Thar. The Western Tragopan (the state bird of Himachal Pradesh) and the Monal pheasant are the prominent bird’s species found in the region.
Highest Altitude Gain: Approx 10,000 Feet Chaderkhani Base Camp.
Note:-These programs are exclusively for YHAI members. Membership is also available at Base Camp/Online/State Branch/Units and YHAI Trekking expeditions are not subsidized by the Government or any donors.
Before Book the Program Kindly Read the Program Details Carefully:-
* Day Wise schedule:
Day 01: Reporting: participants will report at base camp Dobhi 3900 feet from sea level. Equipment will be issued to the students and orientation.
Day 02: Training/Acclimatization: Students will trek around the base camp while morning exercises to get acclimatized properly followed by breakfast. After breakfast students will go rock climbing, rappelling river crossing etc with the guidance of our professional instructor.
Day 03: Rope Setup activities and a nature walk nearby the Basecamp.
Day 04: Trek to Ghankhuladi (by transport from basecamp to Rumsu Village and then trek to Ghankhuladi). Students will enjoy the beautiful trek in dense forests for 06 hours while gaining some altitude to reach Ghankhuladi Camp which is located at altitude of 7900 feet from sea level.
Day 05: Height Gain: This is the day when students will feel the real adventure while trekking on snow, snow sliding etc. to reach the base of the Chanderkhani, Chanderkhani is a mountain pass having an altitude of approximately 12000 feet. Students will only reach the base of Chanderkhani mountain pass and will return to the camp this trek will take around 10 hours approximately
Day 06: Descend to Nathan Seri: On this day students will start descending in beautiful dense forests towards Nathan Seri Camp. During this trek, students can enjoy the beautiful natural views of Mountain peaks, Villages etc. This trek will take 07 hours to reach the Nathan Seri camp which is located at an altitude of 6000 feet from sea level.
Day 07: Trek To Dobhi Base Camp: Students will start trekking for 05 hours to reach Dobhi Base Camp Youth Hostel Camp which is located at an altitude of 3900 feet from sea level. Recreation Activities will be awarded by certificate after the compilation of the program.
Day 08: Check out: On this day students will have to check out from the base camp after breakfast.
Note: The route and Schedule of the programme may change without prior notice based on the local Administration/Weather conditions.
* How to Reach:
Dobhi is 15 kms from Kullu. Dona Nalla Near the Delhi- Kullu Manali National Highway With a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. Regular bus services are available for Kullu-Manali from Delhi, Chandigarh & Punjab. Every bus from Kullu to Manali is passed from Dobhi. The nearest Railway Stations are Ambala & Chandigarh & the nearest Airport is Bhuntar.
* Who can participate?
The program is open to students of age groups between 10-15 years. Only junior members are allowed to participate. Overage/ underage students shall not be considered in any case.
One Teacher/ Escort Accompanying a group of 10 students will be complementary in terms of participation fee on a ‘first come first served’ basis.
* How to Participate:
Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this program may apply online by paying the program fee along with a booking amount of Rs 5000/-.
We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments.
After a successful transaction, an Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry an "Admit Card", "Trekking Medical Certificate" & "Membership Card"(Print of a temporary membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this program may apply on the prescribed "Trekking Registration Form" duly supported by a "Trekking Medical Certificate", along with a DD of the requisite amount of Rs.5000/- in favour of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi or you can deposit in our Bank Account.

All Offline Booking confirmations are subject to the availability of seats. The National Office will send the Admit to the participant at the address mentioned in the "Trekking Registration Form".
Members can also apply through our YHAI Units or State Branches in their respective areas.

* Notice to Participant for any illness or injury: YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of the mountain biking route for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all the details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.

Medicines (As per your personal requirement, which you regularly use at home and Crepe Bandage 4in*1, Microspore tape 1/2inch*1, Band-Aids, Cough lozenges/ Kanthil or other, Vicks Vaporub, Coldarin, Clortrimazole cream and powder, Paracetamol*10 Mupirocin cream, Diclofenac gel, Lopamide*10, Azithromycin and Electrol), Camera with extra batteries.
* Notice to Participants:
1. Students will have to follow the schedule strictly. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
2. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp.
3. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the base camp.
4. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Import of any bio Non- degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence.
* Certificates: Participants, who successfully complete the trekking and abide by the discipline of the program, will be awarded certificates.
*Justice TPS Chawla Scholarship for underprivileged Girls: YHAI announced Justice T.P.S. Chawla Memorial Adventure Scholarship for underprivileged girls for participation in YHAI adventure activities. Girls whose family income is less than Rs.100000/- p.a. can avail this scholarship. Applicant has to submit the salary certificate of their parents. In case of Business, she has to submit their income on an affidavit. Deserving participants may apply to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document / certificates.
*Off the beaten Siddharth Scholarship for underprivileged Young Men & Women :YHAI announced 50% Off the Beaten Track Siddharth Scholarship of the program fee to provide underprivileged Young Men & Women less than 30 years of age with an opportunity to participate in outdoor adventure activities/ programs by YHAI in various parts of the country. Underprivileged Young Men & Women whose family income is less than Rs. 250000/- p.a can avail this scholarship by applying to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document/ certificates through their respective State Branch.
Cancellation Method:
1) Participants booked online will do online cancellation minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
2) Participants booked offline will inform their cancellation by email to trekking@yhaindia.org minimum 10 days prior to your reporting date.
Only cancellation done as per above method will be eligible for credit shell/refund. The below cancellation policy will however not be applicable if the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date and shall not be eligible for credit shell/refund.
Cancellation Policy:
The Participant, who cancels the programme by serving request minimum 10 days prior to his/her reporting date as per above terms and conditions of "Cancellation Method", is eligible to get the credit shell or refund as follows:
(a) Credit Shell:-
1) In case you are unable to join the programme due to any reason, you will get a 100% Credit Shell of the participation fees which will be valid till December 2025.
2) If the next programme opted by you is cheaper, you may use the balance amount in any of the Trek till Dec 2025.
3) If the next opted programme is costlier, the trekker has to pay the differential amount.
4) Program opted using the Credit Shell cannot be cancelled again.
5) You may transfer your seat to your family members and friends also. The seats thus transferred cannot be retransferred or cancelled.
6) The credit shell can only be used in booking of adventure programs organised by YHAI. The credit shell will not be used in taking memberships and hostel bookings.
OR
(b) Refund:-
Participants can opt for a 50% refund instead of 100% credit shell if they wish to. The conditions of “Cancellation Method” will be the same as mentioned above. The participant has to inform either offline or online minimum 10 days prior to his reporting date. If the request reaches short of 10 days prior to the reporting date the refund request shall not be considered.
Note: If any program will be cancelled due to Natural Calamity / Government Restriction / Cancellation of Permission or any other reasons, YHAI will be accountable only for program fees and not other expenses which participants have made for joining the program. In these circumstances the decision for participation fees will be considered by the YHAI and will be bound to all.
