DAY WISE SCHEDULE:

Day 1     Leh Reporting Skara Base Camp

Day 2     Leh Orientaion and Accilmazation Walk

Day 3     Drive to Zinchen Road head, 28km- 45 minuts, Trek to Rumbak 3 hrs

Day 4     At Rumbak , Day walk towards Stok La base 4440mts

Day 5     Rumbak to Base of Gandala ( yurutse Family ) 3 hrs walk

Day 6     Gandala base (16240 Ft) ( yurutse Family ) to Shingo village 6 hrs walk

Day 7     Shingo to Kya Village 4 hrs walk

Day 8     Kya Village to chilling Trek 3 hrs and drive to Leh 2hrs.

Day 9     Check out After Breakfast

HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP:

By Bus: 

Route-1: from Srinagar 434km via Sonmarg, Zozila Pass & Kargil. J&K State Road Transport Corporation operates regular bus services between Srinagar and Leh on this route with overnight halt at Kargil.

Route-2: from Manali 474km via Keylong, Baralacha, Tanglangla & Upsi. Himachal Pradesh Tourism, HRTC and J&K SRTC operate daily Deluxe and ordinary bus services between Manali and Leh. The bus journey between Leh and Manali with an overnight halt at Keylong or Darcha.

By Air: Major Airlines operate daily flights from Delhi/Jammu/Srinagar

By Train: The closest railway stations are Jammu, Pathankot or Chandigarh, both at least three days away by bus.

NOTE: There is no prepaid mobile service availability at Leh- Ladakh region, only postpaid services are functional.(Airtel, BSNL,Only)

* How to Participate:

Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online by paying requisite program fee along with online booking amount i.e. Rs.12500/- We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments.

After successful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry "Admit Card", " Medical Certificate" & "Membership Card"(Print out of membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.

Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may also apply on the prescribed "Trekking Registration Form" duly supported by a "Trekking Medical Certificate", along with a DD of requisite amount of Rs.12500/-(Rs.50 postage charges) per person) in favour of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi. The Registration Form and DD may be sent to the following address:

Nutritious, vegetarian and good quality food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons etc. Natural mineral spring water has been brought to the base camp from a nearby source. Washing of clothes is strictly prohibited. Hot Water Facility Available at basecamp only

 

* Accommodation Facilities:  Sharing Tent accommodation and Sleeping bag shall be provided.  A common toilet-cum bathrooms block is available at the camp.

FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES:

WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG:

Rucksack (if You have one), Woolens, Cotton Shirts, Slacks, Cotton Pants, Sun Cap, Shoes, Socks, Enameled or Steel Mug / tumbler, Plate, Spoon, Water purifying tablets, Pen knife, Needle, Thread, Spare buttons, Goggles, Cold cream / Vaseline, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, Rain sheet,  Medicines which you normally use at home, Camera with extra batteries.

 

CANCELLATION RULES:

case you are unable to join this trek you will get a refund of RS 6000/- provided your request is received directly in the National Office at least 15 days in advance from the date of your joining. Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation. Refund will be given after completion of the programme.

 

SAFETY & SECURITY:

Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of mountain biking routed for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.

SMOKING, USE OF ALCHOHOL AND NARCOTICS OF ANY DESCIPTION IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED DURING THECOURSE OF THE PROGRAM.
