Reporting, Orientation, Training and Acclimatization

You will need to report at the Hostel before 4.30 pm. After reporting, the participants will go for an acclimatization walk with other participants. You can ask your queries regarding the adventure during orientation.

Visit to Srinagar Route

On the second day, you will be taken to the Srinagar Route that covers some of the significant places in Leh. The route leads you to the beautiful valley of Sangam where the River Indus and Zanskar meet each other creating a confluence of muddy and clear water, a view worth seeing from the hill. The exhilarating experience of Magnecti Hills, the mystifying Pathar Gurudwara Sahib, the exemplary beauty of Spituk Monastery with its white washed walls and yellow colored stupas, the tranquil beauty of white- domed Shanti Stupa on the hilltop with the clear blue sky above it, and the rush in your heart when you see the magnificent Stok Kangri from the Leh Palace; it is one of those lifetime opportunities to immerse yourself with different cultures and different experiences in just one day. The route also leads you to the Hall of Fame, a museum where the brave memories of Indian Soldiers (who lost their lives in Indo-Pak wars) are fixed to the walls. After visiting the places, you can roam around the Leh Market and buy souvenir for your family and friends.

Visit to Pangong Lake via Chang La

Travelling through the steep mountains of Leh to one of the high mountain pass in Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir i.e. Chang- La, the second day covers a route of steep ascends and descends to reach the ethereal beauty of Pangong Lake (High Grassland Lake). Claimed to be the second highest motor- able pass in the world, Chang La leads you to the Endorheic Lake in the Himalayas that expands from India to Tibetan Autonomous region. The azure colored lake and the monochromatic mountains make it an ideal canvas for you and your fellow travellers to be its subject. The glistening water of this landlocked river basin is really hallucinating.

Visit to Manali Route

Starting the day on the beautiful Manali Route, the fourth day of the journey takes you to the seventeenth century’s Shey Palace. Climbing the steps of the white washed palace with a tip of burgundy and gold on it, you can witness the beauty of the largest Changchup Chorten (victory stupa) in Ladakh. The prayer wheels of Thikse Monastery; the symbolic murals on the walls and the golden statues of Buddha open the door to a spiritual journey for you and your family. The colored walls of Hemis, peaceful sunset of Sindhu Ghat by the river Indus and murals on the wall of Druk White Lotus School or the 3 Idiots School are worth witnessing when you are in Leh.

Visit to Nubra Valley (10,000 ft) via Khardung La (17, 582 ft)

Chasing the ink blued sky of Leh amidst the barren mountains; the road to Nubra Valley is one of the most picturesque routes. It is also a part of the Old Silk Route. Taking the trail with Greyscale Mountains and ascending to one of the highest motor- able passes i.e. Kardung la and then descending to the arid plains of Nubra valley, also known as Orchard of Ladakh, through the rugged roads of Leh makes it an adventurous as well as fascinating journey. The colorful flowers in the houses and barley field, herd of double humped (Bactrian) camels amidst the desert are a treat to your eyes. You can also take a ride of the camels with your family in the ‘desert garden’ and capture the tiny marmots in your camera. The giggling, laughter and delightful stares of your family makes you feel blissful. The valley is also known for the confluence of two of the significant rivers of the Himalayas: Shayok and Nubra that create a cinematic view of the valley.

Recreation Activities, Certificate Distribution and Checkout after Breakfast

The individuals will be awarded with a participation certificate on the last day. After taking an unconventional journey through the beautiful Leh with the tinkling sound of Tibetan prayer chimes in your head, participants can check out after breakfast.
