* About Program:
 
A quintessential  trek with full  of Scenic beauty of beautiful snow capped mountains in the base of Mount Deo Tibba (19683 feet). This beautiful trek connects the beautiful valleys of Kullu and Lahaul to catch more possible views during the trek. Deo Tibba trek offers the   pastures of the Gaddi shepherds its huge hanging glaciers. This is a spectacular view that haunts every trekker giving a unique experience.
 
Trek  Grading:    Moderate
These treks generally have around 06 hours of trekking per day and can involve a reasonable amount of ascent and descent touching the altitude around 12000-13000 feet. This grade is suitable for someone who is  in good health and who is regular walker. Suitable for anyone who is used to walking on weekends or so, no previous trekking experience is required for this grade.
 
Range:    Kullu (HP)
 
Flora and Faluna:
Kullu is home to an enormous range of species, which span the subtropical to the alpine. The common trees in the Kullu hills belong to the conifer species (deodar, pine, spruce, fir). Several species of medicinal plants like Hath Panja (Dactylorhiza hatageria) and Brahma Kamal (Saussurea obvallata) grow luxuriously in the valley. The valley is known for the presence of Himalayan brown bear and the Himalayan Tahr. The Western Tragopan (the state bird of Himachal Pradesh) and the Monal pheasant are the prominent birds species found in the region.The Great Himalayan National Park is the repository of the great biodiversity of the region.

* Duration: 9N/10D (on 10th day participants will have to check out after breakfast )
 
* Reporting Point: Dobhi, Himachal Pradesh
 
Dobhi is directly connected with Delhi (527kms), Chandigarh (226kms) by road. Regular bus services are available. The nearest rail heads for Dobhi are Ambala & Chandigarh. The nearest airport is Bhuntar. Youth Hostel Dobhi is 14kms on Kullu-Manali highway. All buses touch the base camp.
 
* Program Includes:
Simple Vegetarian food, tented accommodation on sharing bases and group insurance, Forest  Entry , trekking. 
 
* Day Wise schedule
 
# Day 01: Reporting
On first day the participants will be welcomed at Base camp Dobhi where they will be accommodated in tents on sharing bases. (You must ensure to report by or before afternoon)
 
# Day 02: Acclimatization, Orientation and Training
After breakfast trekkers will be taken for a small trek  around the base camp to gain some height for proper acclimatization. After lunch participants will be given opening address in which introduction regarding YHAI, Do’s and don’ts in mountains and High Altitude Sickness will be briefed.
 
# Day 03: Acclimatization Day 2
After breakfast trekkers will be taken for a second trek  around the base camp to gain some more height for proper acclimatization. After lunch participants will be given instructions about rucksack packing and what all stuff you need to carry along with you while trekking. Extra luggage will be deposited at base camp.
 
# Day 04  : Base Camp to Tilgan Camp
After breakfast trekkers will be transported  from base camp to Jagatsukh by bus where from trekkers will start trekking for around six hours to reach Tilgan Camp which is situated at an altitude of 7000 feet
 
# Day 05 : Trek to Sarotu
Trekkers will start trekking to cover 05 kilometers which normally takes 03 hours to reach Sarotu Camp which is located at an altitude of 8000 feet.
 
# Day 06: Trek to Dumdumi
 Trekkers will have to trek for maximum 06 hours to reach Dumdumi Camp which is situated at an altitude of 9500 feet.
 
# Day 07: Trek to Kharabandari Camp
 While trekking towards Kharabandari Camp, trekkers  will go through  the base camp of Mount Dev Tibba which is situated at an altitude of 12500 feet  (The highest altitude of this expedition). On this day trekkers may have to trek on snow out of tree line for maximum  07 hours to reach the final camp site at Kharabandari, which is situated at an altitude of 10,000 feet from seal level .
 
# Day 08 : Descent  to Jobri Nalla
trekkers will have to descend  constantly while trekking  for 04 hours to reach the Jobri Nall camp site which is situated at an altitude of 8000 feet from seal level.
 
# Day 09: Descend to Base Camp and Recreational Activities
Once again trekkers will have to descent constantly while trekking  for 03 hours to reach Prini, Prini is a road head where trekkers will be transported by bus to Base Camp Dobhi. By the evening , certificates will be distributed to those who have successfully completed the expedition
 
# Day 10: Check out

* Who can Participate: 
 
The minimum age for a member to join the program is 18 years to 60 Years, YHAI membership is mandatory to participate. This condition will be adhered to strictly. Under age and above age will not be considered. Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online duly supported by a "Trekking Medical Certificate".
 
Special Allowance Cases:
 
On the special case if the person is medically fit and a regular trekker than he can be allowed in offline mode (decision will be final only on management discretion and seat availability). In this case, he/she has to produce Indemnity bond on rs 100/- bond paper from his respective state and has to submit the same along with his Registration form.
 
 
* How to Participate:
Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online by paying requisite program fee along with online booking amount i.e. Rs.5800/- per participant. We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments. After successful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry "Admit Card", "Trekking Medical Certificate" & "Membership Card"(Print out of membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
 
Offline Booking:
Members desirous of joining this programme may also apply on the prescribed "Trekking Registration Form" duly supported by a "Trekking Medical Certificate", along with a DD of requisite amount of Rs.5800/-in favour of “ Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi. * Cancellation Policy:
 
In case you are unable to join this trip you will get 50 % of the program fee as refund, provided your online cancellation request is received before 10th April’2019 http://yhaindia.org/program-cancellation.php

Any unforeseen event / strike/Unfit Medical Condition or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation.
 
* Notice to Participant for any illness or injury:
YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of mountain biking routed for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities.
 
* Food & Supplies:
Morning tea, breakfast, packed lunch, evening tea (in the camp), and dinner and after dinner tea/coffee/Bournvita, shall be provided. Nutritious, vegetarian and good quality food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own lunch box, plates, mugs, spoons etc. Natural mineral spring water has been brought to the base camp from a nearby source.
 
* Accommodation Facilities:
Tented accommodation on sharing basis will be provided
 
 
* What participants should bring along:
Cotton Shirts, Slacks, Cotton Pants, Woolen sweaters or Jackets, Sun Cap, Trekking Shoes, Socks, Enameled or Steel Mug / tumbler, Plate, Spoon, lunch box, Water purifying tablets, Pen knife , Needle, Thread, Spare buttons, Goggles, Cold Cream / Vaseline, Soap, Toilet Paper, Towel, medicines which you normally use at home, Camera. Light-rain coat.
 
* Notice to Participants:
1. Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited     during the trekking program.
2. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out.
3. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the base camp.
4. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Import of any bio Non- degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence.
 
* Special Casual leave:
The Trekking Expedition organized by Youth Hostels Association of India have the approval of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Dept. of Personnel And Training), Government of India, vide Office Order no. 28016/3/89-Estt (A), Dated 25 October, 1989. Participants working in the Central Govt. Organization can apply to the authorities concerned for availing special casual leave for the duration of the expedition. This leave can be sanctioned by their office up to 30 days in calendar year.
 
*Justice TPS Chawla Scholarship for underprivileged Girls: YHAI announced Justice T.P.S. Chawla Memorial Adventure Scholarship for underprivileged girls for participation in YHAI adventure activities. Girls whose family income is less than Rs.100000/- p.a. can avail this scholarship.  Applicant has to submit the salary certificate of their parents.  In case of Business, she has to submit their income on an affidavit. Deserving participants may apply to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document / certificates.
 
*Adventure Scholarship for Physically Challenged Youth: YHAI announced 50% adventure scholarships of to physically challenged youth (including deaf & dumb) for YHAI adventure activities. Deserving participants may apply to the National Office YHAI, on a plain paper supported by relevant documents/certificates (Disability Certificate).  
 
*Off the beaten Siddharth Scholarship for underprivileged Young Men & Women :YHAI announced 50% Off the Beaten Track Siddharth Scholarship of the program fee to provide underprivileged Young Men & Women less than 30 years of age with an opportunity to participate in outdoor adventure activities/ programs by YHAI in various parts of the country.  Underprivileged Young Men & Women whose family income is less than Rs. 250000/- p.a can avail this scholarship by applying to the National Office YHAI supported by relevant document/ 
certificates through their respective State Branch.
 
 
* Photography Competition:
After the completion of each trekking expedition, a photography competition will be held for which attractive cash prizes and certificates will be awarded. You may also send your entries in the form of colored slides or prints on the following subjects: Nature-birds, Flowers, Scenic Beauty, Camping and Trekking. The size of the prints should be 8” x 10”. Please give brief details of the location of the subjects and also your name, address and group number on the reverse of the photograph. YHAI has the right to retain/use even the entries which are not selected for awards due to acknowledgement/compensation. Last date for submitting entries is 31st July 2019..
