About Program
100 Motor Cyclists will undertake an exhilarating and lifetime journey of more than 3000 kms. Starting from Delhi to Chandigarh, Kullu - Manali, Leh, Nubra Valley, Pangong lake, Kargil, Srinagar, Jammu, Ludhiana and back to Delhi. The route offers breathtaking views of one of the exclusive Passes of Himalayan Range. Covering Rohtang Pass (13051ft), Bara Lacha Pass (16050ft), Lachung La Pass (16600ft), Tanglang La Pass (17469ft), Khardung La Pass (18380ft). This expedition offers you once in a lifetime opportunity to explore Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake together. Further, the group will move to Kargil, Drass exploring Zozila Pass (11500 ft), Srinagar to Delhi via Jammu.
Duration of Program
14N/15 days is the complete duration of the program. The group will report at International Youth Hostel Delhi on 31st August 2018 and will move to Chandigarh on 2nd September 2018. After successful completion of the program the participants will return Delhi on 13th September and Check out on 14th September after breakfast.

Note : There may be changes in the route and final programme due to any unforeseen circumstances.
Criteria for Selection
  • Preferred Age group : 20yrs to 50yrs.
  • The participant (male/female) should be an experience biker and must have done at least 2 or 3 cross state motorbike rides alone or in group.
  • This is high altitude motorbike expedition hence bikers should have excellent physical and medical fitness to ride bikes in low oxygen and high pressure areas.
  • Valid Driving License in India
  • Participant should have owned bike as per specifications*
  • Only Single rider is allowed per motorbike. Pillion riders are not allowed. 
Note : Right of selection is reserved with Youth Hostels Association of India.
Participation fee
Rs.34750/- is the participation fee per participant (USD 600 for foreign nationals) + online booking charges Rs.1738/- (Rs.36488/-)
How to Enroll
Participants may enroll online on We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on for online payments. After successful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry "Admit Card", "Trekking Medical Certificate" & "Membership Card"(Print out of membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp.
Cancellation Charges
50% Cancellation Charges of the participation fee (except online booking charges) will be refunded against cancellation of the program. Provided your cancellation request should reach us through email ( on or before 15th August 2018. Cancellations received after 15th August 2018 will not be eligible for refund.
For Foreign Nationals
Foreign Nationals who should be member of Hostelling International (HI) can also participate in this program in this expedition by paying a participation fee of USD 600. However, they are required to submit their application offline through email. Fee will be accepted only after email confirmation of participation. Foreigners are required to get VISA, Insurance and other required clearance to participate in this expedition. YHAI will not be responsible for any documentation on their part.
Risk Factor
This is a high risk adventure programme, involving stiff Motorbiking on Himalayan passes. Below mentioned are some of the important risk factors which should be taken care :
  • High Altitude Sickness leading to Pulmonary Oedema
  • Exhaustion due to Stressful driving
  • Fall during climb or down leading to ordinary or serious injuries
  • Any unforeseen circumstances
It is emphasized that this is high risk expedition and may lead to simple/serious injury or injuries/loss of limb/temporary or permanent disability/death. YHAI will provide adequate assistances in the above circumstances but cannot be held responsible for any of the risks mentioned or not mentioned above.
What should you bring
Motorbike 125cc to 500cc, Royal Enfield will be permitted. Fully Insured, Valid Driving License for Indian National and Valid International Driving License for Foreign Nationals.Helmet, Biking Gear, Gloves, jacket, Cotton Shirts, Pull overs, Jeans/trousers, Mufflers, cap, Water and Wind proof gloves, Sport/leather shoes, Sun Cap, Woolen Socks, Water bottle, Lunch box, Goggles, Cold Cream, Sunscreen lotion, Tissue packets, Commonly used medicine for Cold - Cough – Headhache – Loose motions etc, Commonly used spare parts. YHAI may prescribe a suitable placard on your bike for identification and publicity. You will be required to wear Wind cheaters / Jackets and other accessories provided by YHAI during expedition. You are requested not to carry any other sponsor’s flag or advertisement material during this expedition. Participants may bring valuables but only at their own risk. Participants are required to abide by the terms and conditions laid down by YHAI.

Specification of the Bike
1. Motorbike 125cc to 500cc, Royal Enfield will be permitted

4. Preferable Bike should not have done more than 50000kms
Valid Driving License for Indian National and Valid International Driving License for Foreign Nationals, Valid Pollution Certificate.
Note : All selected participants are required to report at Base Camp – International Youth Hostels New Delhi along with bike for inspection and final selection.
