* BREIF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM:                The Trekking program reporting dates are 11,12,13,14 & 15 Dec 2017.The program gives an excellent opportunity to trek in the beautiful and serene environment of the jungles of Melghat Tiger Reserve Forest. The area is blessed with very good flora, fauna and is home more many varieties of Animals, Birds and Plants. The participants will get opportunity to interact with Dr. Ravindra Kolhe & Dr.(Smt) Smita Kolhe, who have been working since last three decades and have contributed significantly for wellbeing of local tribal.

* DAY WISE SCHEDULE:                       

# DAY-1      Reporting at Base Camp Kolupur & Training/Acclimatization

# DAY-2      Trek to Chowarakund (via Chipoli-Pattia 16 Km)

# DAY-3      Trek to Rangubeli (via 11 mile/Jambuda padav ,20 Km)

# DAY-4      Trek to Bairagad (via Dawangiri, Savalkheda, 8Kms)

# DAY-5      From Bairagad to Kolupur Base Camp (36 Kms by Bus) followed by Certificate Distribution and Recreation Activity  ,Camp breaks     after Hot Lunch


* HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP:            The base camp is located at KOLUPUR between Villages Dharni & Harisal on the Akola-Paratwada Road on Mah. State Highway-6 & is well connected by ST buses. Nearest railway station is KHANDWA (MP) (103 Kms, 2 Hrs via Bada pul road and Dharni and AKOLA (via-Paratwada) (180 kms, 3Hrs 15 min). The distance from Dharni to Kolupur is 12 Kms )



* WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?                            

 Any member of the Association (Age 18 & above) who is physically fit can join the programme.

*CANCELLATION RULES:                  In case you are unable to join the trek after paying the participation fee, you will get a refund of 50% i.e Rs.2100/- provided your written request is received directly in the office of YHAI, Maharashtra State Branch ON OR BEFORE 12th NOV, 2017. Cancellation requests by email/ SMS / phone calls will not be accepted.  No refund will however, be admissible if the request reaches after 12th NOV, 2017.


* ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES:                 Accommodation will be provided in the Forest Rest Houses/Tent/Village Home stay.

* FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES:                          Simple and nutritious vegetarian food will be provided. Drinking water will be provided at each camp site

* WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG:                  Rucksack, T-shirts, Tracksuit or full-pants, sun cap, woolen/winter gear, Bed sheet, good quality Trekking shoes and Bathroom slippers, socks, torch, water bottle, lunch box, mug, plate, spoon, pen-knife, soap, towel, medicines (which you normally use at home).

* SAFETY & SECURITY:                      Extensive and painstaking preparation has gone into the planning of trek routes for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. The Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accidents, illness and any such unforeseen eventualities. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If the participant desires to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the trek and checking out. YHAI group insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only.
