* BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PROGRAM:  The purpose of the programme is to offer the youth new trekking regions in the Kodai – Munnar  Hills and providing a healthy outdoor activity during the weekend.

* HOW TO REACH THE BASE CAMP: Kodaikanal Youth Hostel c/o Madhu Residency, near the lake.

* ROUTE & SCHEDULE

# Day 1: Reporting at base camp Kodaikanal at 2:30 pm and Training/Acclimatization

# Day 2: Trek to Vellakavi

# Day 3: Trek to Kumbakarai Falls -Transfer  by Van to Kurangani

# Day 4: Trek to Central Station

# Day 5: Trek to Top station - Transfer by Jeep to Munnar(Sight Seeing - Top Station View Point, Madupatty Dam, Kundal Dam, Echo point,

Shooting Spot, Elephant Park, Tea Museum, Rosegarden, Etc. { participants have to pay all sightseeing entry fees} followed by Certificate Distribution and Recreation activity

#Day 6:  Certificate Distribution/Recreation activity Disperse after Breakfast

* WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? 

Participation in the programme is open to all educational institutions, individual and recognized units of YHAI.  Participants have to bear all travel expenses from their place to the base camp and back. 

* HOW TO JOIN: 

Participants can directly apply on registration form with a medical certificate along with demand draft of Rs.6500/- in favor of Youth Hostels Association of India, Tamil Nadu State Branch and payable at Chennai to the State Office at the following address:

* CANCELLATION RULES: 

In case you are unable to join this trek, you will get 50% of the programme fee as refund provided your request is received directly at the State Office, at least 15 days in advance from the date of your joining.  Any unforeseen event/strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation.  The refund will be given after completion of the programme.  Cancellation request will be accepted only by a letter from the participants to our office before 15 days of the programme.  Email, SMS, telephone call will not be accepted.

* ACCOMMODATION FACILITIES:  Tents, Forest and Wild Life Rest Houses

* FOOD & WATER SUPPLIES:   Simple vegetarian and nutritious food will be served

* WHAT PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BRING ALONG:  Cotton Shirts, Cotton Pants, bedsheet, sweater, huntershoes, sun-cap, rain coat, two pair of socks, torch, water bottle, lunch box, mug, plate, tumbler, toilet set, cold cream and first-aid kit.

* SAFETY & SECURITY:  While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible  for any theft, accident, illness and other such unforeseen eventualities.
