Dodital is considered as one of the most beautiful lakes of India and it is extremely popular with nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts. Dodital is surrounded by dense Oak Woods, Pine, Deodar and Rhododendrons with crystal clear water that makes Dodital as an ultimate trekking destination for the trekkers. The lake is full of fishes and is known for some of the rare species like the Himalayan Golden Trout. According to mythological history, Dodital is known as birthplace of Lord Ganesha and witnessed the beheading of the Ganesha by Lord Shiva. Since air and rail connectivity in Uttarkhand is limited, road network is the best and easily available transport option. By Air: Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun is the nearest Airport to Uttarkashi situated at a distance of 160 Kms. Uttarkashi is well connected by motorable roads with Jolly Grant Airport. Taxis are available from Jolly Grant Airport to Uttarkashi By Train: The nearest railway station to Uttarkashi is Rishikesh/Dehradun. Rishikesh/Dehradun is well connected by Railway networks with major destinations of India. Trains to Rishikesh/Dehradun are frequent. PROGRAM INCLUDES: Inclusive of Accommodation, Transportation, Food, Group Insurance, Forest Entry Fees, Qualified and experienced support Staff DAY WISE SCHEDULE: Day 1: Reporting at Uttarkashi (2 PM) Reporting, Briefing and Orientation Day 2: Uttarkashi to Sangamchatti by Jeep and trek to Bebra (8Km) After Breakfast, short drive from Uttarkashi to Sangamchatti by jeep (15Km) and trek to Bebra (8 Km-2200 Mtr.) Night halt at Bebra Camp. Day 3: Trek from Bebra to Dodital, Stay overnight at Dodital Campsite (14 Km) After breakfast start trekking to reach Dodita via Manjhi. The trek from Bebra to Dodital is easy and there is a well maintained route through Rhodendron, Pine and Oak trees. We will stop for our packed lunch at Manjhi village. Post lunch, 2 hour trek from Manjhi will take us to our destination, the scenic lake called Dodital which is famous for its beauty and The Himalayan Trout fish Day 4: Trek from Dodital to Darwatop (4150m) and back, Stay at Dodital Campsite (5+5 Km) Early morning trek up reach Darwatop with packed breakfast. View from the top is amazing and you would be able to see significant peaks like Gangotri group, Bandarpoonch, swargarohini peaks etc. from the top. Relax at the top for some time and start back towards Dodital for the hot lunch and overnight stay. Day 5: Trek from Dodital to Bebra, Stay at Bebra Camp (14 km) After breakfast trek down to Bebra - an easy 14 km, retracing the same path. Overnight at Bebra Camp Day 6: Trek from Bebra to Sangamchatti and Uttarkashi by Jeep (8 km) After breakfast trek to Sangamchatti, and thereafter, drive down to Uttarkashi. After lunch check out. Group insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only Special Casual leave: The Trekking Expedition organized by Youth Hostels Association of India have the approval of Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions (Dept. of Personnel And Training), Government of India, vide Office Order no. 28016/3/89-Estt (A), Dated 25 October, 1989. Participants working in the Central Govt. Organization can apply to the authorities concerned for availing special casual leave for the duration of the expedition. This leave can be sanctioned by their office up to 30 days in calendar year. Certificates: Participants, who successfully complete the trek and abide by the discipline of the program, will be awarded certificates. ADDITIONAL NOTES: 1. Smoking, use of alcohol and narcotics of any description is strictly prohibited during the course of the program. 2. Deviation from the set route of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out. 3. Stay other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp. 4. This is an environment friendly trek. Do no litter any wrappers or spoil the trial in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and deposit at the next camp. 5. Burning of woods during camp fire is strictly prohibited. 6. Medical Certificate is compulsory; you have to summit Medical Certificate at the time of reporting.
