People from the poles apart cultures and regions participate in our programs and enjoy our economical and budgeted trekking adventures. A large number of volunteers work with dedication, and support us for running these programs. As a part of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of YHAI National Trekking, in 1995 we introduced the Family camping Program for the families of our volunteer camp leaders and other functionaries. Encouraged by the success of this adventure and, on the request of our members we repeated this program in many years till 2016. This year again, we are organizing the Family Adventure Camping Program in Leh, J&K. * Duration: 5D/4N Before booking this Programme kindly read all the instructions. * Reporting Point: INTERNATIONAL YOUTH HOSTEL LEH C/O Noorboo Linga G.H Road, Skara, Leh- Ladakh 194101(J&K) Nearest Landmark: Kartse Gompa. Skara,Next to Hotel Shambhala Resort, Near Zorawar Fort * Program Includes: Simple vegetarian meals, Accommodation with attached toilet & bathroom will be given to each family. (Participants will have to pay for transportation while visiting all Sightseeing places) * Day wise Schedule # Day 01: Reporting, Acclimatization and orientation # Day 02: Visit to Leh Local Sight Seeing # Day 03: Visit to Pangong lake, Changla Pass # Day 04: Visit to Nubra Valley,Khardungla Pass # Day 05: Checkout after breakfast Note : Sight Seeing Places may change without prior notice (based on the weather condition). * Who can Participate: 1. Any YHAI member can participate on first come first serve basis. 2. A family consists of husband, wife and two children up to the age of 12 years. Copy of Birth certificate for the children between ages 10 to 12 years must be attached with application forms or must be submitted at the time of reporting at the Base Camp. Photographs of the Family Head must be attached on the forms. 3. A single person does not constitute a family and shall not be registered for the camp. Parent of very small children should arrange for their bottle feed. 4. Photo ID Proof of the head of the family should be attached with the application form, to be produced at the time of reporting at the base camp. 5. For children above 12 years of age, Rs.1000/- per person will be charged above. Extra person we will not allow apart from family.( Husband, wife and two children up to the age of 12 years only) 6. Husband & Wife's membership is mandatory. * How to Participate: Online Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may apply online by paying requisite program fee along with online booking amount i.e. Rs.8190/- ( Rs.7800- Program Fee/Family + Rs.390/- Online Booking Amount) per Family including Husband, Wife and 2 Children up to age of 12 years. We accept Net Banking, Debit Card and Credit Card payment on www.yhaindia.org for online payments. After successful transaction Admit Card will be generated. Participant has to carry "Admit Card", "Trekking Medical Certificate" & "Membership Card"(Print out of membership card may also be accepted) at the time of reporting to the Base Camp. Offline Booking: Members desirous of joining this programme may also apply on the prescribed "Trekking Registration Form" duly supported by a "Trekking Medical Certificate", along with a DD of requisite amount of Rs.7850/-(Rs.50 postage charges) per Family including Husband, Wife and 2 Children upto age of 12 years.) in favour of “Youth Hostels Association of India” payable at New Delhi. The Trekking registration Form, Trekking Medical Form and DD may be sent to following address: Note: Seat once booked may not be re-scheduled or transferred. N.B: Without admit card and Medical fitness Certificate do not claim your registration as confirmed. * Cancellation Policy: In case you are unable to join this trip you will get 50% Rs.3900 /- of the program fee as refund, provided your online cancellation request is received before 10th April’2017. http://yhaindia.org/program-cancellation.php OR Offline booking request for cancellation and refund may be sent through post/courier at following address provided it should reach National Office before 10th April’2017 Trekking Department, National Office Youth Hostels Association of India 5, Nyaya Marg, Chankayapuri. There is no refund applicable for the all the program bookings done after 10th April’2017. Any unforeseen event / strike or natural calamity will not be considered as a cause of cancellation. Refund may be given after completion of the programs 30 to 45 working days. * Food & Supplies: Morning tea, breakfast, packed lunch, evening tea (in the camp), and dinner and after dinner tea/coffee/Bourn vita, shall be provided. Nutritious, vegetarian and good quality food shall be served at the camp. Please bring your own plates, mugs, spoons etc. Natural mineral spring water has been brought to the base camp from a nearby source. Washing of clothes is strictly prohibited. * Accommodation Facilities: One room shall be given to each family. Mattresses, pillow and blankets shall be provided. A well constructed pucca toilet-cum bathrooms block is available at the base camp. * Safety & Security: YHAI Group Insurance cover is for accidental death or permanent disability only. You are advised to take personal insurance cover for your journey and other related matters. Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of this program for your safety. Our field staff and experienced camp leaders have been visiting the area to check all details. While every care has been taken to ensure safety, the Youth Hostels Association of India cannot be held responsible for any accident, illness and such other unforeseen eventualities. * How to Reach: By Bus: Route-1: from Srinagar 434km via Sonmarg, Zozila Pass & Kargil. J&K State Road Transport Corporation operates regular bus services between Srinagar and Leh on this route with overnight halt at Kargil. Route-2: from Manali 474km via Keylong, Baralacha, Tanglangla & Upsi. Himachal Pradesh Tourism, HRTC and J&K SRTC operate daily Deluxe and ordinary bus services between Manali and Leh. The bus journey between Leh and Manali with an overnight halt at Keylong or Darcha. By Air: Major Airlines operate daily flights from Delhi/Jammu/Srinagar. By Train: The closest railway stations are Jammu, Pathankot or Chandigarh, both at least three days away by bus. NOTE: There is no prepaid mobile service availability at Leh- Laddakh region, only postpaid services are functional. Note: program schedule and route is subject to change without prior notice * What participants should bring along: Woolens, cotton clothes, water bottles, plates, spoons, bowls, mug, glass etc, raincoat, cold cream/Vaseline, personal first aid kit, towel, bed sheets, lunch box (for packed lunch) and medicines that you normally use at home. * Notice to Participants: 1. Deviation from the set schedule of the program is not permitted. If participants may wish to join any other activity, they may do so at their own responsibility and risk only after finishing the program and checking out. 2. Staying other than YHAI Camp is not allowed for the entire duration of the camp. 3. This is an environment friendly camp. Do no litter any wrappers in any way. In case you find any wrapper, plastic bag or anything left by trekkers on the way, please carry the same with you and dump in the dustbin at base camp. 4. Burning of wood during camp fire is strictly prohibited. Carrying any Non bio - degradable Material in Himachal Pradesh is an offence. 5. Participants are requested to report on allotted slots only.
